Emulsion Explosive

An Emulsion is the third and latest generation of the commercial explosives in the world. It has excellent performance, characteristics & flexibility in use. An Emulsion explosive is a water-in-oil emulsion consisting of a super-saturated solution of microscopic droplets and it sensitizes with entrapped air in the form of ultra- ne bubbles, dispersed throughout the emulsion which act as sensitizer. An emulsion explosive is a modern
technique of art in explosive’s family. It contains no raw material, which can be classified as explosive. Emulsion becomes explosive only in the final stage of its production. It is therefore safer to manufacture and handle than any other commercial explosives. This is relatively insensitive to accidental initiation by shock, friction or mechanical impact under normal conditions. Emulsion Explosive Seismic

Seismic explosive is not a different type of explosive than other emulsions. It is also one of the categories of these explosives with some changes in raw material composition; to enhance its e effective energy, velocity & shattering e effect. It is designed for seismic application & geological survey. Its packing is in rigid plastic capsules with the provision of inter-coupling to prevent the water penetration. Although the seismic explosives have excellent water resistance, but the hydrostatic pressure within the bore whole is too much and sleeping time is approximately four weeks. Emulsion Seismic explosives is also relatively safer in handling, transportation, charging & use than other seismic explosives. It is insensitive to accidental hazards by shock, friction or mechanical impact under normal conditions.

Water Gel Explosive

The ingredients of Water Gel explosives are based on solution of nitrates with 10 to 15% water. It is essentially thickened aqueous solution of oxidizer and fuel. The salt is dispersed, additionally oxidized and then sensitizers are added. Water Gel explosive is in the form of fluid, pumpable and essentially miscible with water. These are in the form of chemically cross-linked material of dough like consistency feature good water resistance and adjustable density. It is suitable for bench blasting, tunnel blasting & all types of mining. Water Gel is very safe explosives for handling, it is only detonate when initiate with no.8 cap.

Gelatinous Explosive

Gelatin explosives contain one ingredient that is classified as explosives. It is a soft consistency like dough and is suitable for blasting in soft, medium and especially in hard rocks. It is also recommended for coal mines as permissible explosives. Gelatin Explosive is sensitive to heat, shock, friction & impact. It is a highly brisance explosive and it blasts violently. It’s likely shuttering strength is much more than other commercial explosives. It is a cap sensitive product and is handled through special procedures.

Gun Powder

The Gun Powder/Black powder is the oldest known explosive since 12 century. It is a mechanical mixture of ingredients and pressed granular. It is specially designed for the manufacturing of Safety Fuse. The Gun Powder is classified as low explosive which produces rather fast deflagration than detonation. Safety Fuse PVC

Safety Fuse is a pliable & flexible fuse cord, inner core contains special grade black powder and covered with textile yarns. For water proofing fuse is insolated with PVC or Bitumen. PVC coating of safety fuse was pioneered by the owner of the company, Mr. Ch Muhammad Yamin in 1991. The same was later replicated by other commercial explosive manufacturing companies in the country. Safety Fuse burns slowly for transmitting re to a detonator.

Shock Tube

The signal shock tube consists of narrow plastic tube coated inside surface with a very thin layer of high explosives. Shock tube can be initiated by plain, electric, seismic detonators, detonating cord & mechanical shot shell starter device. In resulting shock ways travels at high speed (2000 m/s) through the tube towards detonator connected at the other end. The shock waves produce sufficient energy to initiate plain detonator.

Detonating cord consists of PETN core covered by woven tube of polythene tape and cotton threads protected by an outer insulation of polyvinyl chloride. The weight of cord is approximately 10 g/m and + outer diameter is about 5.0 5.5mm. The Detonating Cord is a strong, flexible and linear explosive which consists of a continuous core of high explosives PETN. The Detonating Cord is critical in transmitting energy for initiation of explosion. It is a cap sensitive product having the ability to initiate all cap sensitive explosives & primers.

Electric Detonators No.8

It is high power detonator and initiated by an electric impulse. PETN

PETN is a white crystalline substance which melts at 140 141c. PETN usually forms in hexagonal shape crystals, which pours easily. PETN is practically insoluble in water but completely soluble in Acetone and Ethyl Acetate/ alcohol and completely non-hygroscopic. The chemical stability of PETN is very high and exceeds that of all other nitric acid esters. The symmetrical structure of the PETN distinguishes it from the rest of its family members. One excellent chemical property of the PETN that, it cannot be destroyed/ chemically decomposed. PETN is used commercially for manufacturing of detonating cord and all types of detonator as a base charge.
